Grandma's Cowboy Cookies

Ingredients
1 cup shortening
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups oatmeal
2 cups cornflakes
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 (12-ounce) package of chocolate chips
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
Directions
Preheat oven 350°.
Cream shortening & sugars, in a large bowl with an electric mixer, add eggs, vanilla and beat until fluffy. Stir in oatmeal & cornflakes.
In a medium bowl, whisk together, flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture. Stir in chips and nuts.
Drop dough by the spoonful, onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake 11 to 13 minutes. Makes 2 dozen.
