GRILLED
STUFFED SWEET VIDALIA ONIONS
INGREDIENTS
1
1/2 cups herb-seasoned stuffing mix
1
cup (4 oz) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1
tsp. poultry seasoning
1/3
cup butter or margarine, melted
1/3
cup hot water
6
medium Vidalia onions
Vegetable
cooking spray
DIRECTIONS
STIR
together first 5 ingredients until blended; set aside.
CUT
each sweet onion crosswise into 3 slices.
SPREAD
2 Tbsp. stuffing mixture between slices and reassemble onions. Place
each onion on a 12-inch square piece of heavy duty aluminum foil
coated with cooking spray; bring opposite corners together and twist
to seal.
GRILL,
covered with grill lid, over medium-high heat (350-400 degrees) for
25 minutes or until tender.
NOTE:
Onions may also be baked, unwrapped, in a lightly greased, covered
11 x 7 inch baking dish at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until tender.
