SANDY'S BARBECUED BRISKET
INGREDIENTS
1 (5 or 6 pound) flat-cut beef brisket (trimmed)
3 ounces liquid smoke
1 teaspoon celery salt
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon onion salt
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper
6 ounces KC Masterpiece Barbecue Sauce
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 cup water
INSTRUCTIONS
Place brisket in oblong baking dish; brush with liquid smoke, covering both sides.
Generously sprinkle with celery salt, garlic salt, and onion salt.
Cover
and refrigerate overnight.
When
ready to bake, brush on Worcestershire sauce, making sure to cover
meat
on both sides and ends; sprinkle with salt and pepper
When ready to bake, sprinkle with Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper
Place foil loosely over meat and bake at 275 degrees for 5 hours.
Uncover and pour barbecue sauce over meat.
Cook without foil for another hour.
Remove to platter and let cool before slicing.
Remove fat from the drippings/sauce in baking dish
Transfer sauce to saucepan; add flour and water and stir.
Cook until sauce thickens.
Serve sauce hot with meat over rice or potatoes.
