INGREDIENTS
2
cups water
1
cup sugar
1
cinnamon stick
4
whole cloves
1
quart burgundy wine
2
thinly sliced lemons (including peel)
DIRECTIONS
In
a stainless steel or ceramic pot, bring to a boil the water, sugar,
cinnamon stick, and cloves.
After
sugar has dissolved, add the burgundy wine and lemons (and peel).
Heat,
BUT only to a LOW simmer. DO NOT return to boiling.
Ready
to serve.
